Avery and co.

This little cutie is my niece. She gets to come hang out with me sometimes while her mom works. Am I the luckiest aunt in the world or what? Oh, and her mom and dad are pretty cool, too.

I'm playing around with some new editing styles and was wondering what y'all think. This first one is how I normally edit, the one below is a "vintage" style that's pretty trendy right now. Classic or trendy? Which do you like better?

Booked for the rest of the year

It's been a great year filled with lots of fun babies, families, and weddings, but unfortunately I am not going to be able to take any more clients before Christmas. January - February of 2011 I will be scheduling newborn sessions only, and March-June I will be out of commission while we get acquainted with our new baby girl. Thank you all for your business and support and I look forward to getting back on the horse next summer!

Good times

These two girls gave me a run for my money! They were so fast and so silly, but oh so cute! Big sister Ella made some of the funniest faces I have ever seen, but when her real smile broke through it could melt your heart. It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous family. :) This fall has been so beautiful; I have been blessed with amazing weather for so many sessions. I don't know how much longer it can last...

Smiles :)

I have two things to say about this session with Becky and Ryan. First of all, check out this yard! All of these photos were done at the home of Becky's employer. I just wish my yard looked half this good! Secondly, how smiley is baby Nathan? I have at least one of him smiling in every single pose - pretty much unheard of at that age!

Libby

Each time I get a nice drowsy baby to work with, I fall in love with newborn photography all over again. I had so much fun with little Libby - her mom and I combined hairbow stashes and used a new one for every pose. The weather was perfect so we ventured outside for a few shots. This first one is definitely one my favorites. It may end up on my next set of business cards. :-)

You know you've struck gold when you have a perfect poseable newborn AND a cooperative older brother to work with!

Isn't she love-ly...

Bridals are my favorite part of the wedding package. It gives me a chance to work with the bride in all her wedding glory without the stress and time constraints of the wedding day. I absolutely adore this wedding dress. If I were to go back and redo my wedding, I think I'd want a dress like this, though I wouldn't look nearly as fabulous as Daniele does. You can't tell very well in these pictures, but it's not a true white - more of a soft ivory. Gor-geous!

When I asked Daniele to twirl her dress for me a little bit, she smiled and said quietly, "I've been practicing." Daniele, you are the perfect combination of cute and stunning!

Success!

Anyone who's ever tried to take a family picture with kids under 5 knows what a challenge it is. With each additional kid the difficulty level increases exponentially. So when I uploaded these pictures this afternoon and found I had a photo with everyone looking AND smiling (no swapping heads needed), I felt a wave of relief and victory. :) Please note the hat on big sister. I think I want one.

Picture perfect

Every so often I have a "perfect" session. The lighting is perfect, the subjects are perfect, and every picture turns out just as I'd imagined or better. This was one of those. Funny story: when I first decided I wanted to dip into the photography industry, I asked these two to pose for me so I could get some practice. I cringe to look at those pictures now (not because of them-- purely because my own skills were so lacking). I know I'm still far from perfect, but I hope these show some growth. :-)

Beautiful families

It's hard to believe it's already time for family holiday photos! Speaking of, I only have a few spots left in October so if you are hoping for some holiday pictures please let me know soon. So many cute kids in these families. They make my job easy!

This face on the right makes me laugh so hard! I think I was trying to get her to make a serious face and that's what came out. Sorry for posting a blooper, but it was too good not to!
