Sweet and sweeter

Oh my cuteness. We only had 20 minutes for this session because we were at a nursery and they were about to close. But with kids, you only get about 20 minutes before they start to get cranky anyway, so I shot fast and I think we succeeded. This little girl was such a doll and her facial expressions were to die for. The world would be a better place if we could all get in touch with our inner 2-year-old every once in a while.

There is a special spot in my heart for baby rolls and toothless grins.

These last few sessions have reminded me why I love photography. It gives me the opportunity to take something that is already so beautiful and attempt to capture it in a small way for the ages.

Raleigh and Jett

These guys are friends of mine (or rather, friends of my son's). But we'll call them my friends, too. At least, I hope they were still my friends by the end of the shoot. There's actually a third guy in this bunch, but he was too little to come play today. If he grows up to be half as handsome and cool as his older brothers, he'll be in good shape.

P.S. I'm playing around with some different logos, so let me know if you see one you like.

My rascals

These two belong to me. I wanted to take some wall-worthy pictures of them and this is what I came up with. I love their sparkly eyes.

A real blog!

My brother is playing around with a real website for me (none of this weblog business) so I've decided to convert this to a bona fide blog with regular posts for each photo shoot. Until my website is up and running, this will still be my only online presence so I'll keep contact info and other information in my archives.

Beautiful baby

This precious baby is just three weeks old. She didn't want to sleep for us, but she did remain calm and happy while we prodded and poked her. I love the expression on newborn babies. It is though they have the wisdom of the ages trapped inside their tiny little bodies.

Isaac (and his parents)

My friend Rebecca from college came to see me with her husband and beautiful baby boy, Isaac. Though we were nearly inseparable during our university days, it has been almost a year since I've seen her. I was so excited to meet her baby, and even more excited to take his pictures! Here are some previews of the handsome fella (and the proud parents).

Snow in April

I was so excited to shoot this wedding. The ceremony was at the Logan temple and I was thrilled to have the chance to have it's beautiful grounds at my disposal. The weather, however, had other plans. I began to worry when I couldn't see the road because of the thick snow fall on my way up. By the time we were ready to take pictures, it was so cold and snowy that we only had ten minutes before we were all too frozen to take any more. Luckily we were able to get a few as proof that "we were there."

At the reception we were taking some pictures with the groom's friends when this emu came out of nowhere! What would a ranch wedding be without some emus!

This picture makes me tear up every time I look at it. They were dancing to Butterfly Kisses... gets me every time.

An adventurous shoot

When Maurielle called me up and told me she had some ideas for their shoot, I knew I was in for a treat. What I didn't know is her ideas involved off-roading, wading through streams, and climbing across thorn infested banks to get the perfect shots! I've never been one to shy away from an adventure, so I said, "Let's do it!" We all came back a little more scratched and bruised than we left, but these two were so in love, they hardly even noticed. Congratulations you guys!

These guys will have gorgeous kids

This couple has been married for a few years, but volunteered to pose as an engaged couple so I could practice with my mentor, Sara Boulter. The biggest lesson I learned that day? Attractive people make this job sooo much easier.

My family

These are my cute niece and nephew. Neither one of them liked to have the camera in their face, but we managed to get some cute ones nonetheless.

I feel like I could swim in these blue eyes. It's just not fair for boys to be this beautiful.
