Fall sessions
Just wanted to let you know I am filling up quickly for fall sessions. I have one spot left in September, and three in October. If you are hoping for fall leaves or just want to get Christmas card pictures done early, you may want to book soon.
Birth announcements
My last newborn session requested that I create some birth announcements. They turned out so cute that I've decided to include this as part of every newborn package. Here are some of my favorites. I think I like the bottom two best, but I still chuckle every time I see the top picture. Hee hee.
Told ya there'd be more
Originally I was going to take this baby's pictures at 1 week old, but the day before our scheduled shoot he ended up at the emergency room. Five weeks later, he was finally well enough to reschedule. Pictures as six weeks are very different from pictures at one week, but I love the open eyes and smiles.
Do you remember mom from her maternity session? She's still glowing. And how could she not be with a cutie pie like this?
Not to be forgotten is the very handsome older brother. Let me tell you, I was sweating after 5 minutes of trying to shoot this kid. He had more energy than a puppy. Phew!

Having a little fun
My cousin, Naoma, came by today so we could practice taking pictures together and share tips and tricks. As usual, we used our kids as models. (I feel sorry for anyone that has to grow up with a shutterbug for a parent.) We had lots of fun and I can't wait to see what Naoma comes up with next! You can check her out here.
Poor Faith wasn't in the mood for pictures.
Here is one Naoma took and edited. Hello baby blues. I think you should blow this one up big, Naoma.

3 babies and a sister
Doesn't this picture make you want to have triplets? These sweet babies were such angels, I hardly wanted to move them after we finished a shot. They were so content to sleep all curled up together. Their mom tells me they rarely are all sleeping at the same time, so I felt lucky to get three solid hours of shooting opportunities. We also took some of their older sister, who in all the havoc has been feeling a little left out. Congratulations, Natalie, and thanks again for allowing me to spend some time with your precious family.

And to think I almost quit
I have a confession to make. After this last session, I came home and told my husband I wasn't cut out for this. I was discouraged, and didn't think I had gotten anything good, even after 90 minutes of shooting. I uploaded my pictures and glanced at them quickly, then went to bed thinking my short-lived career in photography was over.
Tonight I decided to take a second look. And this is what I found.

Hendricksons
This family was referred to me by my brother in California. They came up to Utah for a reunion and wanted to get one last family picture before their daughter gets married this summer. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a family where the youngest is 13. I didn't have to tell anyone that Belle was in my camera or make silly noises or play peek-a-boo. It was great! We still had a lot of laughs, though, and I can see why my brother loves this family so much.
